Are you looking for a Reception Manager job, but somewhere fun where you'll meet people from all over the world? If so, we're looking for a Reception Manager to join our lovely friendly team and lead our receptionists to ensure we're offering up the best customer service and experience to our guests. We're located in the beautiful, historic Castlefield area of Manchester next to the canal and only a short walk away from the city centre. We accommodate up to 212 people and our guests travel here from all over the world. We accommodate all types of people from organised groups such as schools, universities and sports groups to International backpackers, families and domestic tourists. We've recently updated our reception and bar area into a big space overlooking an open plan lounge area which we all love.
As a Reception and Accommodation Manager you'll support the Hostel Manager with the day-to-day management of the hostel. You'll create a great place for our teams to work and ensure our guests have a great experience in our hostels.

What will you be doing as a Reception and Accommodation Manager?
We are a friendly team and will provide the training required for you to undertake the role. However, there is plenty for you to get stuck into from day one, including:
* Leading the team in providing excellent and consistent levels of customer service to agreed YHA standards
* Monitor and control expenditure within the reception function
* Using our systems for efficient guest check-ins and check-outs, food and beverage sales and service and other management functions.
* Managing the rota to ensure correct levels of staffing in reception
* Deputising for the Hostel/Deputy Manager, managing the daily hostel operation in their absence
What Skills and Experience do you need to be a Reception and Accommodation Manager?
Our Reception and Accommodation Managers are responsible for the line management of their teams within their own hostels, along with the management of occasional volunteers. They are also responsible for managing the operational budget and the safeguarding of guests.
To provide this service we are looking for candidates who have:
* Experience in hospitality or customer service, including the management and delivery of a quality service
* Experience of managing a team - experience of leading others, providing guidance to members of your team
* NVQ Level 3 within Customer Services, Hospitality, Tourism (desirable)
* Food safety level 2 and APLH level 2 qualifications (desirable)
* Ability to manage varying pressures, include peaks in workload demands - can prioritise, able to deal with conflicting duties
* Basic IT skills (ideally Microsoft Office) - able to use Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel
* Knowledge and understanding of the core purpose of YHA - what YHA does and how we do it
