Our client isa leading UK-based Food Group, servicing the Foodservice, Retail and Wholesale sectors. We are delighted to assist them in their search for an experienced production and manufacturing management professional as they look to recruit a Factory Manager at their site in Poole, Dorset.
TheFactory Manager isresponsibleforoverseeingthedaily operations ofameatprocessing andwholesalefacility,ensuringefficientproduction,foodsafetycompliance,quality standards, staffmanagement, andon-timecustomerfulfilment.Therolefocuseson maximizingproductivity,maintainingregulatorycompliance,controllingcosts,andensuring highstandards ofhygiene, health,andsafetyacrossallfactory operations.
TheFactoryManagerworkscloselywithprocurement,production,warehouse,logistics, sales,andquality assuranceteamstoensuresmoothend-to-end operationswithinthesupply chain.
Key Accountabilities as Factory Manager:
* Manageday-to-dayfactoryandproductionoperationswithinthemeatprocessing facility.
* Ensureproductiontargets,qualitystandards,anddeliveryschedulesareachieved.
* Monitorworkflow,labourutilization,andoperationalefficiency.
* Coordinatereceiving,processing,packing,storage,anddispatchactivities.
* Ensurecompliancewithfoodsafetyregulations,HACCP,BRC,hygiene,andhealth & safety standards.
* Maintainstricttemperature controlandtraceabilityprocedures.
* Conductregularfactoryinspectionsandaudits.
* Ensureallprocessescomplywithlocalauthorityandenvironmentalregulations
* Monitorproduct quality,shelflife,andwastagelevels.
* Investigatequalityissuesandimplementcorrectiveactions.
* WorkcloselywithQualityAssurance teamstomaintainproductstandards.
* Lead,supervise,anddevelopproduction,warehouse,andhygieneteams.
* Managestaffing levels,shiftplanning,andlabourproductivity.
* Conducttrainingonfoodsafety,operationalprocedures,andwork placesafety.
* Fosteracultureofaccountability,teamwork,andcontinuousimprovement.
* Monitorstocklevelsofrawmaterials,packaging, andfinishedgoods.
* Coordinatewithprocurementandlogisticsteamstoensureuninterruptedsupplyand timely deliveries.
* Minimizewaste,shrinkage, andstocklosses.
* Ensureaccurateinventoryrecordsandstockrotation(FIFO).
* Maintainasafeworkingenvironmentacrossthefacility.
* Ensurecompliancewithallwork placehealthandsafetyprocedures.
* Investigateaccidentsandimplementpreventivemeasures.
* Promotesafeequipmenthandlingandoperationalpractices.
* Monitoroperationalcosts,labourcosts,andproductionefficiency.
* Managefactorybudgetsandresourceallocation.
* TrackandreportkeyoperationalKPIs.
* Identifyopportunitiesforprocessimprovementandcostsavings.
The Ideal Person for the Factory Manager role:
* Bachelor'sdegreeinOperationsManagement,FoodProduction,SupplyChain,or related field preferred.
* 5+yearsofexperienceinfactoryorproductionmanagementwithinmeatprocessing, food manufacturing, or wholesale operations.
* Strongknowledgeofmeatprocessingoperationsandfoodsafetystandards.
* Experiencemanaginglargeoperationalteamsinafast-pacedenvironment.
* UnderstandingofHACCP,BRC,andhealth&safetyregulations.
* Strongleadershipandproblem-solvingskills.
