Overview
We are seeking an Associate to join our MEP team at our Reading, Theale offices. The role is designed for an experienced engineer with a proven background in building services design, capable of leading project teams and delivering high‑quality design work while maintaining excellent client service.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead MEP engineering teams delivering a range of project work
* Manage risk within MEP engineering projects; possess good working knowledge of MEP scope/appointments and excellent commercial acumen
* Act as the lead engineer in a design team responsible for electrical building services concept and detailed design
* Supervise and monitor the work of others in this function
* Mentor and develop junior engineers
* Produce reports, drawings and specifications to suit various RIBA design stages
* Use specialist CAD and BIM (Revit) software and other resources to design systems required for the project
* Liaise closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors of in‑house and external project teams
* Attend a range of project group and technical meetings
* Ensure that design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements
* Demonstrate excellent project management skills
* Foster long‑term productive working relationships
Qualifications
* Significant experience within an electrical building services design role from either a consultant or contractor background
* HNC/HND or higher educational qualification in an applicable discipline (HNC/HND)
* Achieved or working towards IEng or CEng status
* Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a close‑knit team towards a shared goal
* Attention to detail and a strong desire to deliver high standards of client care
