The Role
Responsibilities
* Monitor the budget, supervise staff, manage scheduling, guest relations, restaurant cleanliness, and opening & closing procedures.
* Open and close shifts following proper procedures.
* Engage with guests actively, seeking feedback to enhance guest experience.
* Execute revenue and check control procedures during shifts.
* Handle daily employee relations, including scheduling and time adjustments.
* Maintain a safe and sanitary environment for all associates and guests.
* Gather and utilize tools for shift management such as schedules, floor plans, and reservations.
* Resolve daily operational problems like call outs and last-minute bookings.
* Ensure guest satisfaction by assisting with service, seating, and communication with the kitchen.
* Maintain a presence on the floor during meal periods to ensure coverage.
* Interview, select, hire, and retain qualified employees.
* Conduct timely performance evaluations and provide training and coaching.
* Recognize and reward top performers.
* Ensure safety compliance and adherence to all relevant laws and policies.
* Stay informed about industry trends and competition.
* Communicate effectively within the department and the company.
* Hold staff accountable to performance standards and motivate staff development.
* Enforce the company's recycling program standards.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED required; relevant work experience is a plus.
* Two years supervisory experience in high-volume restaurants preferred.
* Good math skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word.
* Excellent communication, customer service, and leadership skills.
* Ability to solve problems and handle diverse situations.
* Professional appearance and ability to work weekends, holidays, and nights.
* Successful background check and ABC certification prior to employment.
* Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
