SEMH Maths Teacher
Are you an experienced SEMH Teacher that is looking to start a new role?
Do you have strong behaviour management?
Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced SEMH Maths Teacher who can start ASAP on a full-time basis working within an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rated Independent SEN School. You will be responsible for 6-8 students in class with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. Due to the students needs some will be working towards their Maths GCSEs and others working at a much lower level. When teaching you will have support from a Teaching Assistant who will be there to help set up the class, support the students and manage their behaviour.
The School:
An Independent Special School for pupils aged between 11 and 16, who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). In most cases the primary identified need is Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and behavioural difficulties, although the majority of pupils have additional special educational needs such as Autism, Attention Deficit Difficulties AD(H)D, Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), conduct disorders and attachment difficulties.
They promote the highest standards of educational achievement at all levels and provide a broad and balanced education experience and curriculum, personalised according to need. The success of the school is undoubtedly linked to the dedication of staff and engagement of parents/carers

Experience, Training and Qualification:
9. Qualified Teacher Status (DfE Number)
10. Subject specialism: Maths
11. Calming mannerisms in challenging situations
12. Strong behaviour management skills while creating a fun learning environment
13. Driven to motivate the pupil and increase his participation
14. The ability to grow individual personal development
15. Be caring, patient and have good communication skills
16. Be self-reflective, have a willingness to learn and demonstrate initiative
17. Experience supporting an individual with Autism
18. Willing to complete Safeguarding online training
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
19. Hold right to work in the UK
20. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
21. Provide two professional child related references
