Roles and Responsibilities
The appointee will, together with consultant colleagues, be responsible for the provision of the Cardiology services in Heart Failure and Imaging. The contribution to the Heart Failure service will include outpatient clinics and participation in MDT ward rounds and meetings with the specialist nurses. The imaging role will include performing and supervising echocardiograms and participation in specialist MDTs. There may be an opportunity for sessions in the cardiac catheter lab (such as right heart catheterisation) and/or specialist cardiac imaging (such as CMR or CT), depending on the appointee's experience.
The appointee will participate in the \"on call\" commitment for general cardiology, acting as a non-invasive cardiologist (there is a separate interventional rota). The person appointed will take their equal share in providing emergency cover and will be required to cover for colleagues during periods of absence. The appointee will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and assist on occasions throughout the region. They will also contribute to the ward cover rotas.

Qualifications and Requirements
The successful candidate must be registered with the GMC with a valid licence to practice. For further information please visit the GMC website and click on the Registration and Licensing link. You will also have completed Specialist Training (or equivalent) and be entered on the Specialist Register of the GMC, or have a CCT date within six months of the date of interview.
