The Role
Imperium Engineering & Construction is expanding its social housing operations across London and the South East. We are looking for a commercially active Head of Social Housing who can open doors, build relationships, and convert opportunities- while ensuring delivery is structured, compliant and trusted.
This role suits someone who understands social housing realities: frameworks, procurement routes, compliance, damp & mould/disrepair pressures, resident communication, and performance reporting- and can turn this into repeat work and long-term partnerships. Applicants must be able to demonstrate an existing network and proven route to market in social housing. Success will be measured through pipeline quality, awards won, and repeat client relationships, alongside delivery confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Growth (Primary)
* Build and maintain relationships with housing associations, councils, ALMOs, managing agents and consultants
* Generate a measurable pipeline: meetings booked, opportunities created, bids submitted, awards won
* Support tendering and procurement: contribute to specifications, pricing strategy, and governance requirements
* Identify the right route to market: frameworks, direct awards, partnering, subcontract delivery models
* Represent Imperium as a credible delivery partner in social housing
Delivery Oversight & Confidence (Secondary but essential)
* Oversee delivery of repairs, void refurbishments and planned works with clear scopes and variation control
* Ensure compliance with RAMS, safe systems, permits, and contract reporting
* Ensure capability to investigate/handledamp & mould/disrepairrequirements and evidence-led remedial planning
* Maintain performance standards and reporting, supporting continuous improvement and client confidence
* Support complaints escalation and resident satisfaction improvements where needed
Strategic Input
* Help shape Imperium’s social housing offering, systems, and processes
* Work directly with the CEO and senior leadership
* Build scalable delivery and reporting structures
About You
* Proven experience in social housingrepairs/voids/planned workswith client-facing responsibility
* Demonstrable ability to generate business throughcontacts, relationships, frameworks and tender routes
* Strong grasp of procurement and contract governance in housing environments
* Confident in compliance, reporting, and performance culture (KPIs/SLAs)
* Comfortable travelling across London & the South East and commute to Head Office or able to relocate
