The role

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 7 Team Manager to cover a 12 month period of maternity leave for the York Assertive Outreach Team. Assertive outreach works with individuals who experience severe and enduring mental illness, notably psychosis with possible comorbidities of substance use. Individuals on caseload experience high levels of social, economic, emotional and psychological stress which can contribute to their difficulties engaging with the team. Individuals have difficulties engaging, building relationships with services and require more intensive and assertive community care and treatment. This is an exciting time to join a well‑established team at a point of ongoing national developments. Secondments would be considered, but would need the current line manager’s agreement to be released on a secondment basis. The successful candidate, with the support of the wider leadership team, will improve the lives of people with mental ill health through effective leadership, management and service development to enable the delivery of excellent services to promote recovery and well‑being for all service users.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision and appraisal for the staff team.
  • Performance monitoring including key performance indicators.
  • Recruitment and management of staff.
  • Ensuring people have timely access to services and receive treatment in line with the team pathways.
  • Opportunity to involve yourself in direct clinical work in line with the needs of the service.

Requirements

  • Excellent relationship building and engagement skills.
  • Capability of managing varied work demands based on changing needs of the service.
  • Passion for delivering excellent mental health services and supporting the team to achieve its potential.

Support & Development

You can expect ongoing commitment and support to your continuous professional development and robust supervision, appraisal and training.
