Salary: £34,398 - £52,490 per year
Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary of £52,490 is applicable to candidates with substantial teaching experience equivalent to U3.
About the School:
Teach-Now is working in partnership with a specialist secondary provision in Broxbourne supporting pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), significant communication needs, and associated sensory and behavioural challenges.

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to plan and deliver a highly differentiated curriculum for pupils across Key Stages 3–5 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Autism.
You will create a calm, predictable and structured classroom environment that supports communication, independence and positive behaviour. The role involves designing personalised learning in line with EHCP outcomes and ensuring pupils make meaningful progress both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Curriculum Delivery
• Plan and deliver personalised lessons adapted to complex learning needs.
• Design learning around EHCP outcomes and small-step progression.
• Deliver a curriculum focused on communication, functional literacy and numeracy, and life skills.
• Use structured teaching approaches, visual supports and sensory strategies.
• Complete two written reports per term and contribute to Annual Reviews.
Communication & Autism Practice
• Embed communication systems such as PECS, Makaton and visual timetables.
• Support sensory regulation through structured routines and adapted environments.
• Work closely with Speech and Language Therapists and other specialists.
Behaviour & Progress
Implement positive behaviour support strategies within a therapeutic framework.
Monitor and assess progress, celebrating small-step achievements.
Maintain high expectations while fostering trust and consistency.
Leadership & Collaboration
• Lead and deploy Teaching Assistants effectively.
• Work collaboratively with families, therapists and external agencies.
• Engage in CPD and contribute to whole-school SEND development.
Requirements:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching pupils with SLD, ASC or complex needs (desirable).
• Experience working with EHCPs and personalised learning programmes.
• Understanding of structured teaching and autism-friendly practice.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a classroom team.
