CNC Turner
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Turner to join our dynamic Engineering team in Ely, Cambridgeshire. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC turning machines to produce high-quality components. This role requires a strong understanding of fabrication processes, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to interpret technical drawings. The CNC Turner will play a crucial role in ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Duties
* Set up and operate CNC turning machines according to specifications and production schedules.
* Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models to ensure accurate machining.
* Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot any issues that arise during operation.
* Utilise hand tools and basic math skills for precise measurements and adjustments.
* Conduct quality checks on finished products using appropriate measuring instruments.
* Collaborate with team members in the assembly process and materials handling.
* Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Assist with welding tasks as required, ensuring all work meets industry standards.
Experience
* Proven experience in CNC machining, specifically with turning operations.
* Experience in fabrication, milling, tooling, and assembly processes is highly desirable.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to use hand tools effectively.
* Experience on Haas or Doosan Machines would be a distinct advantage
* Experience using Twin Spindle with Y-axis lathes would be ideal
* Experience using Fanuc controls would also be an advantage
* Sliding Head experience would also be a distinct advantage
* CAD/CAM experience would be helpful but training can take place on this to help get up to speed
* Experience working with exotic materials isn't essential but would be an advantage, such as Inconel.
