Phlebotomist/Healthcare Support Worker – Part‑time, shift based in Northern Ireland
Location
Northern Ireland (Belfast, Glengormley, Dundonald, Newtonards, Bangor, Carrickfergus)
Hours
Part‑time, shift patterns vary. Minimum 2 days per week.
Duration
Ongoing, starting at the beginning of July.
Eligibility
* 25 years old or over
* Hold a clean full manual driving licence
* Have not been refused motor insurance
* Held a full licence for at least 12 months
Essential skills
* Recent phlebotomy experience of at least 12 months
* Proof of competency is desirable but not essential
* Driver as per the eligibility criteria
Main responsibilities
* Measure height, weight and waist; take heart rate and blood pressure checks and enter data into the system.
* Draw two blood samples per participant, label and store correctly.
* Check participant welfare throughout the appointment and raise any concerns to the nurse in charge as required.
* Offer signposting, advice and guidance to participants as necessary.
* Prepare and pack boxes of samples for courier pickup at the end of each shift.
Essential requirements
* Phlebotomist with at least 12 months recent experience.
* Willing to fully register with the agency.
Additional information
This role is part of a large health research programme focused on improving disease prevention, early detection and treatment. Volunteers provide physical measurements, blood samples and lifestyle data to enable research.
