Introduction to the role: We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and proactive male support worker to join our busy supported living service. The household is predominantly male and due to the specific needs of some of the people we currently support in this service we are looking for a male support worker to join our predominantly female staff team.
As a Support Worker, you'll provide personalised assistance to enable the people we support to live as independently as possible.
Brief outline of the role:
The 30 hour post includes some weekend work, day and evening shifts, and possible sleep-ins. Available shifts and contracts can be discussed at interview.
Duties include:
* Supporting with medication
* Managing finances
* Arranging and attending appointments
* Positive behaviour support
* Assisting with accessing public transport
* Providing support in the community
* Meal planning, shopping, preparation and supporting healthy lifestyles
* Supporting with household tasks
* Prompting personal care
* Communicating with the team and attending team meetings
* Undertaking all necessary training
* Some lone working may be required
