Key Responsibilities As Senior Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for: Developing innovative, safe, and cost-effective design solutions — from routine tasks to first-of-their-kind engineering challenges. Leading design teams (including in-house and contract staff) to deliver robust, engineered solutions on time and to spec. Acting as a technical and cultural mentor, supporting the growth and development of junior team members. Representing Engineering in project and commercial meetings, ensuring technical compliance and feasibility at all stages. Engaging with clients confidently, leading technical conversations with commercial awareness. Producing high-quality manufacturing drawings that meet all engineering and quality standards. Liaising closely with manufacturing and quality teams to support the build and ensure modifications are controlled and compliant. Visiting customer sites — including offshore and international — to conduct surveys and participate in progress reviews. Maintaining all design documentation in line with internal procedures and regulatory requirements. Promoting TEAM’s Core Values in all work and interactions. What You’ll Bring Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of ISO and ASME drawing standards. Detailed knowledge of machinery-related regulations: HSW Act Section 6, Machinery Directive, PUWER, LOLER. Familiarity with ISO/ASME standards on engineering materials, limits & fits, threads, gears, and lifting systems. Extensive experience in design for fabrication, manufacture, and assembly. Working knowledge of pressure vessel and piping codes such as ASME VIII, B31.3, B31.4/8. Experience with Hot Tapping and Line Stopping equipment and associated design considerations. Proficiency in SolidWorks, ANSYS, MathCAD Prime, and document control systems. Competence with Microsoft Office and standard engineering software. Qualifications BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering, plus significant applied engineering experience. A background in industrial services, machinery manufacturing, or oil and gas is essential. Practical Knowledge Understanding of workshop fitting, machining, and mechanical assembly processes. Strong English communication skills — both verbal and written.
