As Maintenance Supervisor you will oversee the day-to-date running of a team of craftsmen and semi-skilled staff, along with contract staff, to ensure compliance with Health Board standards, policies and procedures. You will provide technical advice, training, and support where needed.
You will have a broad practical knowledge of engineering and building practices, with the ability to work with the team to find solutions to technical challenges.
Main duties of the job
* Ensuring maintenance repairs, minor works, and planned preventative maintenance is undertaken.
* Supervision of a multidisciplinary team of craftsmen and semi-skilled staff, including contract staff where needed.
* Provide technical advice, training, and support to team members. You will support the development of staff through mentoring and skills development.
* Ensure compliance with Health Board policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
* Manage resources effectively to maintain operational efficiency and safety.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. While the candidate does not need to have skills in Welsh, it will be considered an advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. It does not require fluency; speaking and listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above are desired.
Qualifications
* Time served apprenticeship / modern apprenticeship
* ONC / HNC/ Certificate
Experience
* Significant experience within a maintenance environment, post apprenticeship
* Hospital Experience
Skills
* Good negotiation and influencing skills.
* Able to produce and interpret reports
* Welsh language skills in speaking/listening at Level 3 or above
