Job overview

Here at the Beeches Mother and Baby (MBU) Unit, we aim to create a positive and supportive community to promote the mother's recovery and baby's development.

The team provide specialist inpatient care for up to 6 women with moderate to serious mental illness, during the perinatal period. This is a crucial and vulnerable time for women.

As many as one in five women experience post or ante natal depression, anxiety or in some cases severe mental illness such as psychosis during pregnancy or in the first year after childbirth.

The purpose of the MBU is to keep the Mother & Baby together, whilst treating the mother's mental health and promoting or maintaining attachment and bonding.

We accept admission for women in late stages of pregnancy and up until the baby is 1 year old.

The service is growing and we want to welcome onboard mental health practitioners that have a passion for perinatal mental health care, that are willing to learn and grow with the team and who want to make a positive difference.

You will be joining a supportive, caring and progressive team offering great job satisfaction, alongside the privilege of being part of women, their partners and babies lives at such a special time, making a crucial difference to their future.
