Job Title: Multi‑Skilled Trades Person

Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Multi‑Skilled Trades Person to provide maintenance services across Devon. The role supports a high‑quality, flexible and proactive customer‑oriented service, including planned preventive maintenance, repairs, alterations, testing and installation of engineering services, equipment and fixtures.
Responsibilities
* Support the provision of a high-quality, flexible and proactive customer‑oriented maintenance service.
* Work on Air Handling Units, motors, bearings, commercial and industrial heating systems and associated controls.
* Maintain a wide range of electrical equipment and services across the Trust’s estate.
* Perform skilled fault‑finding under limited information, working safely and effectively outside core electrical skill.
* Ensure all work is carried out to maintain a clean, safe and pleasant environment for patients, staff and visitors.
* Comply with statutory and regulatory requirements, including Legionella, Electrical Safety Policy, Asbestos and Permit‑to‑Work policies.
* Deal effectively with staff of all levels, external organisations and the public through verbal, written and electronic communication.
Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:00‑16:00 (37.5 hours per week).
Qualifications
* Experience with Air Handling Units, motors, bearings and commercial/industrial heating systems.
* Multi‑skilled engineer with an electrically biased background and ability to work safely outside core skill.
* Proficiency in fault‑finding and troubleshooting of electrical equipment.
* Knowledge of engineering compliance, relevant statutory regulations and health & safety policies.
