Job Description
KCR Solutions are delighted to be partnering with an excellent client in Cramlington to recruit a Management Accountant. This pivotal role is responsible for producing accurate monthly reporting, delivering meaningful financial analysis, and providing robust support across a growing SME. The successful candidate will take ownership of the month-end process, budgeting and forecasting cycles, cash flow management, and financial controls, while working closely with operational teams to enhance performance and inform commercial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
* Complete month-end close activities including accruals, prepayments, and journals
* Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
* Assist with the production of annual budgets and regular forecasts
* Analyse variances between actuals, budget, and forecast
* Work with non-finance stakeholders to support operational decision-making
* Provide financial analysis for pricing, margins, and cost control
* Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts
* Support working capital management, debtors, creditors and stock
* Maintain and improve accounting systems and reporting processes
* Support implementation of new systems or process improvements
* Ensure accurate data capture and reporting efficiency
* Support year-end accounts preparation and liaison with external accountants/auditors
* Assist with VAT returns and other statutory submissions
* Ensure compliance with HMRC and Companies House requirements
The role will suit someone actively studying towards CIMA, ACA, ACCA or QBE, with a good working knowledge of Excel and accounting systems. Previous SME experience would be an advantage.
