Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is a leading provider of community services, mental health care, physical care, addiction services and learning disability care, working as part of our service you will be able to demonstrate team working abilities, good communication skills and experience of fitting, assembling and dismantling of equipment

The Community Equipment Service has visible and responsive leadership, setting the standards for others and role modelled throughout the division for all managers.


Main duties of the job

Community Equipment Assistants play an important role in the day to day work of the service dealing with the movement of equipment within the warehouse, decontaminating all returned equipment, quality checking items, adhering to Trust policies and procedures, loading and unloading of equipment onto Trust vehicles adhering to manual handling training.

This post will involve delivering equipment to patients in their homes.

Job responsibilities

Community Equipment Assistants assist in cleaning and refurbishment of all returned equipment.

Move equipment around the warehouse from the cleaning area to main storage areas.

Assist the drivers in the deliveries and collections of equipment.

Comply with health and safety requirements when handling equipment.

Communicate effectively with the team.

Undertake general warehouse and storekeeping duties including stock takes of equipment and quality checks.

Qualifications

* Manual handling training


Knowledge/Experience

* Able to work as part of a team
* Able to work with other drivers on heavy and awkward loads
* Experience of working with the public
* Experience of working in a stores environment with NHS & Social Services equipment or equivalent
* Experience of fitting and assembling equipment
* Experience of cleaning equipment
* Good motivation and ability to be flexible and creative
