Job Title: Senior Admin Officer
Location: London (Hybrid - 2 days office / 3 days home)
Rate: £28.00 per hour
Contract: Temporary, Full-Time (35 hours per week)
We are seeking an experienced Senior Admin Officer to provide professional, efficient, and customer-focused administrative support within a busy transport and highways service. Key Responsibilities:
* Provide a wide range of administrative and business support, including managing shared mailboxes and casework systems.
* Respond to internal and external enquiries, complaints, and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests in a timely and professional manner.
* Mentor and guide Admin Assistants, providing support and input into performance processes as required.
* Maintain accurate electronic and paper filing systems, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
* Raise purchase orders, process invoices, and manage financial records in line with council financial procedures.
* Provide accurate minutes and notes from meetings, including those of a sensitive nature.
* Coordinate recruitment activity, induction, and training sessions for new staff.
* Support budget monitoring, contract registers, and ensure Health & Safety and Business Continuity processes are followed.
* Deliver accurate reporting by extracting information from databases and systems.
* Provide project support where required, ensuring effective delivery of team objectives.
Requirements:
* Demonstrable experience of delivering high-quality administrative services in a busy team environment.
* Strong knowledge of administrative processes, complaint handling, and customer service provision.
* Excellent ICT skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
* Knowledge of financial procedures and data protection requirements.
* Experience of handling confidential and contentious issues with sensitivity.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
* Flexibility to work outside normal office hours on occasion.
