Physical Health Transformation Manager

We are looking for an experienced Physical Health Transformation Manager who will play a pivotal role in shaping, leading, and delivering improvements across the Operations and Transformation Directorate. The postholder will provide high‑level support to the Head of Transformation, contributing to the strategic delivery of transformation and improvement priorities of the organisation and service divisions through disciplines programme management.
This is a full‑time post.
They will contribute to management and delivery of divisional transformation portfolios, managing pathway redesign, standardisation and productivity improvements, and ensure that transformation activity within operational services is informed by national best practice, local context, and patient and staff feedback. Patient outcomes and staff experience will inform day‑to‑day priorities and approaches to service improvement.

Main duties of the job
* Lead the design, development, and delivery of transformation initiatives to improve efficiency, quality and consistency across operational and administrative processes within the physical health division.
* Work collaboratively with digital, operational and corporate teams to identify opportunities for automation, standardisation and process optimisation.
* Work with the performance and operations teams to develop and maintain directorate‑wide performance frameworks, ensuring accurate reporting, analysis and escalation of key metrics for physical health transformation programmes.
* Lead end‑to‑end process reviews, using recognised improvement methodologies to diagnose issues, map workflows and implement sustainable solutions.
* Coordinate and contribute to the development of business cases, project documentation and transformation proposals to support organisational decision‑making for physical health services.
* Engage and influence senior stakeholders, facilitate change adoption, build consensus and support cultural and behavioural change.
* Ensure robust governance and risk management across physical health transformation programmes, including maintaining risk registers, action plans and assurance documentation.
* Promote continuous improvement, embed best practice, support capability building and champion innovation across the directorate.

Knowledge
* Good understanding of the health and social care environment and the roles and responsibilities within it and the NHS generally.
* Strong practical knowledge of change methodology.
* Strong practical knowledge of programme management methodologies.
Qualifications
* Evidence of Continuous Professional Development relevant to the role.
* I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
Experience
* Has previously worked in healthcare and/or has a strong understanding of the system.
* Managing change management programmes and projects.
* Experience of leading medium to large scale projects through to successful delivery.
* Experience of partnership working across health/social care organisations, and engaging with clinical staff, patients and other key stakeholders in collaborative projects.
* Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence.
