Working as a Swim Teacher (assignable), you will be required to work across Leisure & Culture Dundee facilities, including St Paul’s Swim & Sport, Grove Swim & Sport, Harris Swim & Sport, Olympia, Lochee Swim & Leisure Centre, and Baldragon.
Candidates will operate a full range of activities, including Learn to Swim & ASN, and help support the development of new programmes. Opportunities are available to achieve aquatic-related qualifications, with a priority given to Early Years Learn to Swim.
There are various shifts available; candidates should select from the options detailed below. Our programme at Olympia offers flexibility to work term time only, aligned with the Dundee School Holiday timetable. Alternatively, year-round contracts are available. Additional hours will be available to assist with holiday programmes, holidays, and sickness cover.
Available shifts include:
* Olympia: Tuesday 3.45-7.45pm, Friday 3.45-7.45pm
* St Paul’s Swim & Sports Centre: Monday 5.15-9.15pm (2 posts), Wednesday 5.15-9.15pm (2 posts)
* Grove Swim & Sports Centre: Tuesday 5.15-9.15pm, Thursday 5.15-9.15pm

Requirements
* Current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) & Scottish Swimming Teaching Qualification (SSTQ) or equivalent.
* A UKCC Level 1 Teaching qualification & willingness to work towards an SSTQ (completion within 12 months).
Responsibilities
Assist the Aquatics Development Manager and Aquatic Lessons Coordinator in delivering a full range of teaching functions and customer service related to Leisure and Culture Dundee's involvement in schools and city-wide aquatics programmes.
The Individual
You should have experience in planning structured activity/sports sessions, excellent communication skills to work within a team, and the ability to organise sessions and manage time effectively. You must follow Health & Safety guidelines, complete daily registers, and conduct continual assessments. Willingness to develop teaching skills across all ages, abilities, and aquatic disciplines is essential. Flexibility to work at various citywide centres and willingness to undertake training for personal and service development are required. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the PVG scheme. Candidates will need to join or update their PVG scheme membership prior to employment.
