Rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join the Paediatric Occupational Therapy Team based at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, with outreach work across the South West of England.
As part of this forward‑thinking and innovative team you will be responsible for the delivery of a highly specialised Occupational Therapy services to children & young people under the care of the Barth Syndrome Service and will be instrumental in the continued provision and development of this service. You will also be a valued member of the small but specialist OT team, providing clinical support and education to band 6 and 5 Occupational therapists.
We are looking for an innovative, inclusive clinician who is passionate about delivering a high‑quality patient‑centred service, someone with advanced skills, confident to challenge current practice and ensure that our patients receive up‑to‑date evidence‑based treatments. In‑service training programmes & staff appraisal systems are in operation to support your development to enable you to meet the demands of the post.
Responsibilities
* Provide a highly specialised Occupational Therapy service including assessment, treatment and management of young people with Barth Syndrome.
* Be a core member of the Barth MDT, assisting in the development, planning and progression of service provision, working across and within traditional professional and organisational boundaries in hospital, education, and community settings.
* Act as a source of expertise and demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience in the highly skilled management of young people with Barth Syndrome.
* Provide specialist advice and clinical education to other members of the multi‑disciplinary team, presenting at local, national and international meetings.
* Support the wider Paediatric Occupational Therapy Team as required.
Bristol Royal Hospital for Children is a specialised tertiary centre, taking the most complex referrals from both local and national centres.
