Fernvale Primary School is looking to appoint a committed, adaptable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our supportive school team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and young people and is passionate about supporting high-quality learning across the school.

Key Responsibilities
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
• Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers
• Ensure pupils remain engaged in learning activities set by teaching staff
• Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, purposeful learning environment
• Provide feedback to teachers on pupil participation, progress and behaviour
• Support the organisation of classroom resources and learning activities
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure continuity of learning and high standards across the school
• Assist with wider school responsibilities, including examinations, pupil wellbeing and administrative support where appropriate
The successful applicant will need to complete a DBS check before commencing work and references, including that from the most recent employer, will be taken before interview.
This position is to start on Thursday 20th August 2026 and will be fixed term - full time 8.30 to 3.30 with 1 hour lunch (30 hours a week) Term Time + INSET Days for one year initially.
£26832 - £28146 (Actual £18621 - £19969) Pay Award Pending from April 2026
Part time will be considered for the right candidates.
