for global industries, is seeking a
Manufacturing Engineer
to join our team. Founded in 1969, we have been manufacturing bespoke tarpaulins for over 50 years, serving sectors including Transport, Aquaculture, Oil & Gas, Agriculture, Industrial and Aviation.
You will join a team of experienced CAD Technicians and Design Engineers, working closely alongside the General Manager and Production Manager, with a focus on supporting efforts to improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare technical drawings for the sales team in line with our bespoke manufacturing.
* Prepare and revise 2D CAD layout drawings for manufacture
* Create and modify of Bills of Material
* Carry out CNC Nesting using DXF drawings to reflect design criteria and minimise waste
* Analyse manufacturing processes, lead times, and material usage to reduce waste in relation to costs and efficiency
* Support General Manager and Operations Manager in identifying LEAN process and production improvements
* Implement waste reduction strategies and present reports
* Create technical documentation and update process database
* Monitor and report on KPIs, highlighting the impact of process changes and the ongoing sustainability of such changes
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar degree
* OR a 3
rd
level qualification in relevant discipline
* Experience in CAD, AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar applications
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Desirable
* 1-3 years' experience in manufacturing/production facilities or process improvements
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes
* Knowledge of ERP systems
* Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing
