Experienced Fostering and Kinship Social Worker Are you a dedicated social work professional looking to make a meaningful impact in children’s lives? Worcestershire County Council Childrens Services is seeking an Experienced Fostering and Kinship Social Worker to join our dynamic Fostering and Kinship Service. This contract role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive team, ensuring the safety, welfare, and positive outcomes for looked after children and young people. If you are passionate about fostering, family placements, and supporting vulnerable children, this could be the perfect role for you. About the Role As an Experienced Fostering and Kinship Social Worker, you will be responsible for assessing and supervising Foster Carers, undertaking viability assessments, and supporting connected carers. Your role will be essential in safeguarding children, promoting their well-being, and ensuring placements are safe, nurturing, and suited to their individual needs. You will also be involved in preparing court assessments, including Private Fostering and Special Guardianship reports, to assist court decisions and promote permanency for children. Candidate Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive fostering and kinship assessments, including viability and connected carer evaluations Supervise Foster Carers and provide ongoing support and development Engage with children, families, and foster carers to promote positive outcomes Prepare detailed reports and assessments for court submissions, including Special Guardianship and Private Fostering cases Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fostering regulations and standards Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure children's needs are paramount Keep accurate case records and ensure compliance with policies and legislationCandidate Requirements A professional qualification in social work Current registration with Social Work England Proven post-qualifying experience in Children and Families work Experience in completing fostering assessments and connected carer evaluations Sound knowledge of fostering regulations and minimum standards Strong communication and team-working skills Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's well-beingBenefits Contract duration: 4 months with the possibility of extension Competitive pay rate 34.78 inclusive of holiday pay or 26.62 exluive of holiday pay Supportive and collaborative working environment Opportunity to make a tangible difference in children’s lives Flexible working arrangements (where applicable)How to Apply If you are an experienced social worker ready to contribute to Worcestershire’s nurturing and safeguarding environment, we would love to hear from you.
