Job Introduction
We're seeking a Senior Content Producer to lead our team producing religion, arts, and science programmes for BBC Radio Wales. BBC Radio Wales is dedicated to creating engaging radio content that reflects Welsh life, informing, educating, and entertaining our audience daily.
The role involves overseeing religious programming such as Celebration and All Things Considered, as well as arts and science content like The Radio Wales Arts Show and Science Café.
Main Responsibilities
* Lead, motivate, and support a production team, ensuring clear communication of the editorial vision.
* Devise, plan, and produce distinctive digital and audio content for various religious, arts, and science programmes, both from and for Wales.
* Manage relationships with BBC network radio religion commissions.
* Generate innovative programme ideas across various formats.
* Understand the social, political, religious, arts, and science context within Welsh society.
* Possess hands-on studio production experience and ability to direct presenters.
* Embrace digital development, ensuring high-quality content delivery on platforms like BBC Sounds and social media.
Candidate Requirements
* Strong interest and knowledge of theology, familiar with Christian approaches and major world faiths.
* Understanding of BBC's Editorial Values and Standards, with experience in live and pre-recorded radio.
* Proven leadership in speech radio production and technical oversight.
* Knowledge of Christian music, hymns, and worship music.
* Journalistic skills with critical questioning and issue analysis.
* Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills.
