Cloud Security Engineer – Iceland Foods
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Cloud Security Engineer to join our Cyber Security team. The successful candidate will report to the Cyber Security Architect and will primarily be responsible for ensuring the security of our Microsoft Azure environment. This includes designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls to protect cloud‑based systems and data, working closely with infrastructure and development teams to ensure secure configurations and compliance with organisational and regulatory requirements.
The role is based at our Deeside head office, with a minimum of two days per week working in the office.
Key responsibilities
* Design, implement and maintain security controls for Microsoft Azure environments.
* Collaborate with infrastructure and development teams to enforce secure configurations.
* Ensure compliance with organisational and regulatory security requirements.
* Monitor and respond to security incidents in cloud environments.
Required skills and capabilities
* Strong experience securing Microsoft Azure environments.
* Knowledge of Azure security services such as Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, Azure Policy, Azure Firewall, WAF, Private Endpoints, and Service Endpoints.
* Experience designing and implementing secure network architectures in Azure, including Virtual Networks, subnets, and Network Security Groups.
* Understanding of identity and access management in cloud environments (e.g., Entra).
* Familiarity with Azure Firewall, WAF, VPN and ExpressRoute for secure hybrid connectivity.
* Experience with AWS security best practices and services.
* Knowledge of cloud compliance frameworks (e.g., CIS Benchmarks, NIST, MCSB).
* Experience with IaC security considerations (e.g., Terraform).
* Understanding of Zero Trust principles and network segmentation in cloud environments.
* Excellent documentation and communication skills.
* Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate.
