We have a great opportunity for a Criminal Justice Recovery Facilitator on a full time, permanent basis.
About you…
This role plays a key part in reducing drug and alcohol-related offending by supporting individuals within the criminal justice system to access community-based treatment services. These services aim to address and challenge the relationship between substance use and offending behaviour.
You will have experience working within the criminal justice system, along with a strong understanding of the impact of drug and alcohol-related offending. You will be confident in building effective working relationships with both criminal justice and community partners to maximise opportunities for engaging individuals in support and treatment.
This role is office based with the requirement to deliver interventions in the wider community.
About the team…
Drug related offending can lead to people becoming trapped in a cycle of offending behaviour. It does not only effect the individual, it also affects their families and the wider community. By working with both adults and young people involved in the criminal justice system, we have the opportunity to engage with individuals at the earliest possible stage, helping them to change the direction of their lives and build a more positive future.
Teamwork and strong partnership working are essential to the success of this service. Building effective relationships with key partner agencies will ensure that individuals receive the right support at the right time, increasing the chances of sustained recovery and reduced re-offending.
Close collaboration with Probation and the local Youth Justice team will be vital to delivering meaningful change and making a real difference in the lives of those we support.
Key responsibilities…
* To carry out initial assessments, e.g. triage and comprehensive assessments, in respect of adults and young people who are involved with the criminal justice system and may be subject to statutory orders.
* To carry out risk assessments in accordance with organisational and local protocols and risk management plans to address and manage identified risks.
* Offer general information and harm reduction interventions to service users, including provision of alcohol interventions, brief advice and Naloxone as required.
* To create initial support plans with service users that addresses immediate need and provides a basis for further interventions.
* To conduct Drug Rehabilitation Requirement (DRR) / Alcohol Treatment Requirement (ATR) assessments and facilitate interventions aimed at reducing offending behaviour to this cohort.
* To assess and engage all young people referred to the Drug Diversion Scheme and deliver the program as required.
