Job Title: Treatment Room Nurse
Reports To: Senior Practice Nurse
Hours: Full-time and Part-time hours available
Salary: Dependent on experience
Newburn deliver clinical care to circa 45,000 patients across three practice sites with a population demographic covering Aberdeen city centre, Northfield, a significant population of Aberdeen University students and the Fyvie-Oldmeldrum population in Aberdeenshire. This allows for an interesting and varied clinical workload.
We are looking for a Treatment Room Nurse to join our innovative and friendly team to work primarily within the nursing team and would be predominately based at our Carden branch with occasional cover required at our other branch at Old Aberdeen and any other location under our remit.
Key Responsibilities
As a Treatment Room Nurse, you will provide a range of nursing services within the practice, including but not limited to:
1. Wound care and dressings
2. Removal of sutures and clips
3. Blood pressure monitoring
4. Venepuncture and specimen collection
5. ECG recording
6. Administration of injections (e.g., contraceptive Depo)
7. Support for chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, hypertension)
8. Health promotion and patient education
9. Maintaining accurate clinical records in line with practice protocols
10. Ensuring infection control and adherence to clinical governance standards
Essential Requirements
11. Valid NMC registration
12. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
13. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
14. Commitment to patient safety and confidentiality
Desirable
15. Proven treatment room experience
16. Experience with EMIS or similar clinical systems
17. Knowledge of current NHS guidelines and best practice
