SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Doncaster DN3
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school community in Doncaster (DN3 postcode). This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children with special educational needs. Ideally you will have experience working with non verbal pupils, however this isn’t essential.
Start Date: 3 rd November
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary with potential for extension
About the Role:
You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social-emotional challenges. Your role will involve one-to-one support, small group interventions, and helping to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN
* Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
* Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
* Promote independence and confidence in learning
* Support classroom activities and behaviour management strategies
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with children with SEN (in school or other settings)
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A genuine passion for supporting children’s development
* Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable but not essential)
