Our client is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join its Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) in Cambridgeshire. Based at the Police Headquarters, you will work at the critical first point of contact for safeguarding referrals, ensuring that children and young people receive timely and appropriate interventions. What will your responsibilities be? Referral Management: Act as the first point of contact for new safeguarding referrals, identifying risk and determining the appropriate level of response. Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work alongside colleagues from the Police, Health, and Education to share information and provide a coordinated response to safeguarding concerns. Risk Assessment: Conduct rapid, high-quality screenings and assessments to ensure children are protected from immediate harm. Decision Making: Apply thresholds accurately to decide whether a case requires statutory social work intervention, early help, or signposting to other services. Direct Communication: Liaise with families and professionals to gather essential information while maintaining strict confidentiality and data protection standards. Record Keeping: Ensure all information and decisions are recorded accurately within the council's management information systems. Qualifications and Experience: To be successful in this role, you must have: Social Work England registration and a recognized social work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, or Degree). MASH or Duty Experience: Proven experience in a fast-paced "front door" or referral-based environment. High-Level Risk Analysis: Ability to make quick, evidence-based decisions in high-pressure situations. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills for effective multi-agency information sharing. Compliance: A fully completed DfE sheet must be provided upon application. Working Hours and Flexibility: Hybrid Working: Support for a hybrid model with 2–3 days in the office and the remainder remote. Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm).
