The Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-focused Trim Operative to join our dedicated Trim Department. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for crafting and fitting bespoke interior trim components to exacting customer specifications. This includes working with high-quality leather, carpet, and fabric to create beautifully finished interiors that embody the craftsmanship Morgan is known for.
You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality product and exceptional customer experience, taking pride in every stitch, cut, and fitting you complete.
Key Responsibilities
· Trim and fit vehicle interiors using leather, carpet, and fabric in accordance with customer orders
· Cut, prepare, and fit interior panels, seats, carpets, and soft tops (including vinyl or mohair hoods)
· Assemble and fit weather equipment and soft-top trim elements
· Carry out repair and retrim work on older Morgan models
· Assist in developing new trim patterns and adapting designs as required
· Ensure all work meets predefined quality standards within set build times
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
· Proven experience in trimming, upholstery, or leatherwork (preferably automotive or classic car-related)
· Skilled in working with leather, heavy materials, and soft furnishings
· Proficient in the use of hand tools and cutting equipment
· Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality finishes
Desirable:
· Experience with sewing (hand and/or machine)
· Hood fitting or fabrication experience
· Pattern development and material preparation experience
