Job Description:
My client is a well-established engineering business with a long history and exciting plans for business growth. They are a well-known international business specializing in the manufacture of bespoke systems for the O&G sectors.
They are looking to strengthen their team and appoint a Manufacturing/ Production Engineer based at their site near Malton.
The successful candidate will collaborate with Operations and Engineering on all new and existing products, providing process and manufacturing engineering expertise to ensure smooth transition to full manufacture.
Candidates should have a background in process improvement and knowledge of manufacturing processes such as Machining, Fabrication, and Assembly (mechanical and electrical).
Ideally, candidates will have at least an HND qualification in an Engineering discipline.
Hours: 8.30am to 4.30pm Mon-Thurs and 8.30am to 4pm Friday.
Role and Responsibilities
* Design fixtures, source tooling, and produce stage drawings, SOPs, training manuals, and operation procedures.
* Create engineering documentation and bills of materials using 3D SolidWorks and 2D AutoCAD.
* Complete pre-production activities effectively and timely to support production plans, including drawings, bills, routes, machine programs, tooling requirements, and fixture design.
* Participate in feasibility reviews for new parts to evaluate manufacturing methods and identify necessary design changes prior to quotation and sign-off.
* Drive continuous improvement in production processes, developing methods and processes.
* Deliver technical training to production operators to enhance skills and team knowledge.
* Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing methods and equipment, and consulting with vendors.
* Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflow, space, and equipment layout.
* Provide decision-making information by calculating costs, reviewing schedules, and estimating future requirements.
* Contribute design input on projects within set timescales.
* Ensure engineering aspects of products are suitable for their function.
* Respond promptly to production, logistical, and technical support questions.
Qualifications:
* Qualified in an engineering discipline; HND or Degree preferred.
* Strong background in production or manufacturing engineering roles.
* Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes and best practices.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
