* 35 hours per week
(shift-based, including early starts, late finishes, weekends, and bank holidays)
* You must be able to arrange your own transport for early/late shifts.
Earliest shift is from 06:00am, and latest shift finishes by 23:15pm. Night Finish 06:00am.
* Full training provided and uniform provided
* Candidates will be subject to a Right to Work check & DBS check for this position.

* This role is subject to graded pay scale - Starting salary £24,464 rising at 12 months to £25,435.

We are currently forward planning for any future roles that may come up to join our Customer Service Team as a Platform Host (train dispatcher) at Ipswich Station. This advert is for future positions. If successful with your application you will be placed in a Talent Bank for a period of 6 months and offered a role if an opportunity becomes available.
Key Responsibilities
* The role is varied, some of the duties include the requirement to dispatch trains in a safe and punctual manner, assist our passengers whilst demonstrating our customer service values, undertake regular security checks, assist our passengers & colleagues during times of disruption & assist in keeping the station environment clean & tidy.
* The position is based on an average of 35 hours a week, to include shift work of early mornings, late evenings & nights. The position also includes weekend working.
* All applicants should be aware that this role is physical and has elements of indoor & outdoor working.
* The successful applicant will also have to have their own transport and be able to travel independently to the stations (shifts may start or finish after the train service begins / ends).
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* The correct candidate will need to have a high level of professionalism, a positive attitude, be pro-active, friendly & open & honest when dealing with customers.
* Excellent customer service & interpersonal skills are crucial to this role.
* You will remain calm under pressure, show integrity & be flexible & adaptable to change. Previous experience in a train dispatch role will be highly regarded.
* This is a safety critical role and you will be responsible for the safe dispatch of trains, due to this a medical will need to be passed successfully for the position to be offered.
