I'm looking for a skilled post-editor to help refine my upcoming book (30,000 words). It's a humorous and irreverent guide to cat behavior, full of absurd analogies, satirical observations, and playful jabs at both cats and their human roommates. The book was translated into Italian with the help of AI, and now it needs a human touch to truly shine.
What I need is someone:
* who has experience editing humor, satire and/or voice-driven nonfiction
* familiar with post-edition as well as AI-generated text and how to add warmth and personality to it
* deeply familiar with Italian culture, humor, and references
* who is open-minded and enjoys dark humor - the book can be touchy on certain subjects
* who can smooth out the prose and catch anything that feels "off" to an Italian audience
* meticulous on how the jokes land, the pacing works, and the cultural references hit the mark (or spotting where one is missing)
* who is a native Italian speaker or fluent in Italian and currently living in Italy
Bonus points if you:
* Love cats (or love to mock them lovingly)
* Speak French to facilitate cross-referencing your translation with the original text
