Overview
General Dynamics UK is looking to recruit a Maintenance Training Specialist reporting directly to the Training Lead. The role is based in Merthyr Tydfil and will require travel to customer sites to deliver electronic and weapons maintenance courses. Due to the security sensitivity of the role, it is open to applicants who can achieve SC clearance level.
Responsibilities
* Deliver electronic and weapons maintenance courses to customers and the business.
* Manage and collate Inval and Exval reports and update training course documentation as required.
* Attend workshops to support Training Systems Engineering as an SME to develop training simulation equipment.
* Validate CBT to the latest engineering release for update by stakeholders.
* As a seasoned professional, apply deep expertise in the area of specialization to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways.
Qualifications and Experience
* At least 7 years of experience in Tech/Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
* In-depth Armoured Fighting Vehicle experience.
* Military Electronic Technician Class 1 / Degree / NVQ and/or City & Guilds Level 3.
* Experience in delivering maintenance training courses.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Demonstrable knowledge of automotive/Turret analogue and digital systems, microcontrollers, and digital communications (including CANbus electrical systems).
* Excellent communication skills at all levels; ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects; highly customer-focused; IT literate with working knowledge.
* Willingness to travel and stay away from home for protracted periods in the UK and overseas.
* Ability to share knowledge within the team and obtain SC Clearance.
Education & Professional Requirements
* Essential: At least 7 years of experience in tech/electronic engineering or related discipline; in-depth Armoured Fighting Vehicle experience; Military Electronic Technician Class 1 / Degree / NVQ and/or City & Guilds Level 3; experience in delivering maintenance training courses; full UK driving licence.
* Desirable: Higher education qualification in an engineering discipline; previous experience on maintaining vehicle weapons systems; DSAT qualifications.
