Science Technician (Physics Department) – Part-Time
We are currently seeking a well-organised, proactive and enthusiastic Science Technician to provide technical and administrative support within a busy Physics department at a high-achieving secondary school.

Position: Science Technician (Physics)

Pro Rota - £25,989 - £27,254
*
Hours: 25 hours per week
*
Working pattern: Monday–Friday (8:00am–1:00pm or 8:30am–1:30pm)
*
Contract: Temp - Perm
*
Working weeks: Term time plus 2 additional weeks
*
Some flexibility may be required during busier periods of the academic year
Key Responsibilities
*
Preparing and organising equipment and materials for practical Physics lessons
*
Supporting teaching staff with lesson preparation and demonstrations
*
Maintaining and storing laboratory equipment safely and effectively
*
Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering resources
*
Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed within the laboratory environment
*
Providing general technical and administrative support to the Science department
The Ideal Candidate Will
*
Be a strong team player with a flexible and positive approach
*
Have a genuine interest in supporting practical Science education
*
Be organised and able to manage competing priorities
*
Ideally have A-level standard Science knowledge (in any Science subject)
*
Have previous school or laboratory experience (desirable but not essential)
*
Be willing to undertake training where required
