Overview
Ivy Resource Group are working with a leading civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Project Manager for a flagship infrastructure scheme based in Bridgwater. You will be delivering works on a landmark flood defence project designed to protect thousands of homes and businesses from tidal flooding, with completion scheduled for 2027.
The Company
Our client is a well-established civil engineering contractor with a strong track record of delivering complex infrastructure and environmental projects across the UK. They operate across sectors including marine, flood defence, and heavy civil engineering, with a focus on safety, innovation, and sustainable delivery.
The Role
* Full project management responsibility from inception through to completion on a major flood defence scheme
* Planning, programming, and coordination of all on-site construction activities
* Managing subcontractors, site teams, and suppliers to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
* Monitoring project performance including cost, progress, and quality
* Acting as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and senior management
The Ideal Candidate
* Proven experience as a Project Manager within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
* Strong working knowledge of NEC4 contracts, including change and commercial management
* Hands-on experience with formwork and temporary works coordination
* Demonstrated leadership and site management capability
* Ability to manage programmes, mitigate delays, and adapt to project changes
* Experience within tidal, marine, or flood defence projects is highly desirable
Salary & Package
* Competitive salary / day rate - £400-£425 per day
