About the role

As a National Account Manager within Essential Home Sales, you’ll take ownership of strategic relationships with major retailers such as Tesco, Boots, Asda, and Sainsbury’s. Essential Home is a market leader in home and hygiene solutions, recognised for its commercial strength and innovation—30% of our sales over the past three years have come from new product launches. In this fast-paced, competitive environment, you’ll be responsible for driving category growth, delivering exceptional commercial results, and shaping joint business plans that unlock mutual value. This role offers the opportunity to lead high-impact negotiations, influence strategic decisions, and develop your career within a business that values collaboration, performance, and entrepreneurial thinking.

Your responsibilities

1. Achieve Net Revenue, Gross Margin & Net Working Capital targets for the account portfolio
2. Achieve account 4P targets (Product, Placement, Price & Promotion)
3. Provide challenge within a Category Business Team from a customer perspective
4. Develop multi-level relationships with the account
5. Achievement of account sales and trade investment targets for allocated account
6. Secure trading and distribution/promotion agreements in line with nominated major account’s profile (including share of shelf/visibility at POS/Distribution penetration across product range/Retail Pricing/Consumer and Trade Promotions and Discounts)

The experience we're looking for

7. Degree calibre candidate, with account management experience in FMCG sales; we want someone who has the hunger and desire to take our business to the next level
8. A strategic thinker, you possess the confidence to effectively deliver account plan
9. Proven track record of P&L management, budget delivery and growth momentum
10. You’ll demonstrate financial and commercial acumen and strategic thinking, be analytical and creative
11. Confident and capable of operating at all levels, good team player
12. The ability to build effective relationships both internally and externally will be a key part to your success, so you must be able to demonstrate a range of influencing styles and techniques
