We're on the lookout for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join our Beer Packaging Engineering team in Runcorn! The Runcorn site is an 18-acre, 24/7 operation supported by 4 rotational crews. It has 2 bottling lines, 2 canning lines, and 1 kegging line, producing over 90 SKUs across 16 different beer and liquid types-averaging 23 million cases annually. We package Guinness products at our facilities in Runcorn (Northwest England) and Marshalls Road (Belfast), producing canned, bottled and kegged product for Ireland, UK and export markets. Both sites are currently undergoing significant investment to enhance capability and capacity. As our Compliance Engineer, you'll be at the heart of ensuring all maintenance activities activities are continuously aligned to the legislative standards. You'll work closely with Site Management, Maintenance, Risk & Governance and the Global Engineering team to embed a culture of compliance across the board. You'll ensure that all Diageo policies, procedures and standards, i.e. GRMS, SFIP's are managed within the Asset Care team. A key outcome is to ensure zero harm to employees, conform to legislative requirements and avoid legal action, fines or damage to reputation. You should be able to influence key stakeholders including Governance, Operations, Asset Care, Finance and Governance teams to change ways of working and drive compliance. The Compliance Engineer has responsibility for ensuring that all engineering compliance reports are managed, either internally or by contractors. This is both a consultative and authoritative role. Key accountabilities are: - Ensure adherence to Health & Safety, Environmental & Quality Standards. - Manage British Engineering Services Database of Statutory inspections / Maintenance activities. - Ensure compliance for all Legislative (LEG) tasks in SAP. Custodian for site PUWER database system. - Management of compliance activities - Make plant available, Ensure safe access, Isolations, Risk Assessment, Method Statement approvals, Permit to Work. - Ensure all Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) documentation is completed and filed in compliance folders and audited regularly. Responsible for local engineering compliance standards. - Follow Management of Change system and ensure all actions are driven to completion. - Administration and co-ordination of Maintenance systems and documentation on Diageo Systems including SAP, EQMS, Enablon and Sharepoint. - Preparation and upkeep of Compliance critical metric data and Visual Management Information and responsible for bi-weekly Governance Meeting for Site. - Supporting technical specialists with document creation, survey work and implementation of standards. This includes Maintenance reviews, Management of Change, Early Equipment Management and Compliance with all legal requirements. - Supporting Technical specialists in preparation for HSE, SEPA, GAR and CARM audits. - Safety Ambassador promoting a strong culture of zero harm. Participation in safety meetings and audits. - Maintaining current knowledge of relevant legislation, attending seminars, updating competency, skills and knowledge in all Compliance related matters. - Participation in the Manufacturing Excellence agenda. We would love to hear from you if you: - Hold an HNC/HND qualification in Mechatronics with electrical bias, or similar subject area. Or time served as an Electrical engineer or equivalent. Understanding of core mechanical manufacturing processes. - Are a Certified Compliance Professional or have validated experience as a Compliance Manager (preferred but not crucial). - Have a solid understanding of Health & Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH Managing Safely, COMPEX, machinery safety advantageous, PUWER experience); specific training will be provided. - Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels. - Are self-motivated and driven, with the ability to work both independently & part of a greater team of site stakeholders. - Have hands-on engineering experience in maintenance environment with ability to read electrical site and electrical machine drawings, mechanical plant process and identification (P&ID's) and, pneumatic drawings. - Are knowledgeable in Reliability Maintenance techniques and data analysis, with experience using applications such as Excel and Word, as well as business systems like SAP. - Demonstrate excellent analytical skills and the ability to lead and drive continuous improvements. - Can work independently as well as collaboratively in a team, with meticulous attention to detail. - Have a solid understanding of legislative requirements to support informed decision-making.
