Associate Director - Cereals & Oilseeds Supply Chain
We are currently recruiting for an Associate Director - Cereals & Oilseeds Supply Chain to work on a hybrid basis from our HQ in Coventry. This newly created post is offered on a part‑time basis, 21 hours per week, on a fixed‑term contract until December 2026. A valid full UK driving licence is essential along with the flexibility to travel to meetings when required.
This strategic role leads AHDB’s farm assurance research for the Cereals & Oilseeds sector and delivers high‑quality, independent market analysis and insight to support levy payers. We are looking for expertise in this sector, strong leadership skills and a proven ability to collaborate across teams. The ability to understand and respond to levy payer needs with agility and insight is essential to deliver meaningful outcomes and drive success in this role.

Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Cereals & Oilseeds analysts’ team to ensure delivery of innovative, effective and relevant market information, intelligence and insight to levy payers.
* Work with the Sector Director to review activities that deliver most value for levy payers.
* Work with colleagues across the wider team and business to ensure the most insightful economic evidence and analysis is being used.
* Facilitate the profile and reputation building of the analyst team, maximising reach within the industry.
* Hold responsibility for the regular delivery of outputs to levy payers and industry, including adherence to sign‑off policies/data checks.
* Lead stakeholder management activity relating to farm assurance research by building strong relationships, developing opportunities to support the review and ensuring they are kept informed of progress.
* Act as the point of contact for assurance‑related discussions and queries on the farm assurance research.
* Work with the leadership team to agree a clear position statement on assurance and proactively manage position/press lines to ensure they are up‑to‑date in a fast‑moving situation.
* Contribute to the development of a longer‑term strategy and thinking on assurance in the domestic marketplace over the next 3‑5 years.
Essential Criteria
* Professional qualification to at least degree standard in an appropriate discipline, or equivalent experience.
* Relevant knowledge and experience of the Cereals & Oilseeds sector with the ability to learn and develop an in‑depth understanding of levy payers’ requirements and react when necessary.
* Proven leadership and team coordination abilities, fostering cross‑functional collaboration to achieve business objectives and delivery projects.
* Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to motivate a team toward achieving strategic goals.
* Strong team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
* Confident interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
* Excellent planning and organisational skills, with a focus on delivering high‑quality outcomes on time and within budget.
