Category Manager for Leading Utilities firm based in Berkshire (hybrid) - £50000
An exciting opportunity to join one of the UKs leading utilities firm as Category Manager as they continue their rapid expansion and transformation through strategic reconstruction. With expertise in procurement, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative category strategy with goals towards sustainability.
You will develop and implement innovative ideas category strategies whilst engaging with stakeholders and category leads. With sustainability at the forefront of the companies ethos, you can be assured that with your input, you are the driving force towards a cleaner future within the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborating with stakeholders and applying understanding of market dynamics and cost drivers to develop category strategy
2. Leading procurement tenders in line with category strategy
3. Develop Supplier Relationship Management and lead commercial negotiations
4. Manage and optimize supplier base within the category whilst managing and mitigating risk
Role Requirements:
5. Degree level education or equivalent / CIPS or MCIPS is preferred
6. Direct procurement experience within FIDIC / NEC contracts
7. Experience performing end-to-end category management activities
8. Strong negotiation skills with a proven record of cost reduction related to indirect spend
9. Competent in construction contract drafting
It is a well-established, multi-billion pound company, spanning across the UK and Europe, meaning you will have the opportunity to travel to different sites within the UK and internationally. In this role, you will regularly work from home, providing flexibility. This role offers salary of £50000 .
