DON'T WANT TO WORK ON THE TOOLS ANYMORE, BUT STILL WANT TO MANAGE MAINTENANCE AND CONTRACTORS? HAVE YOU GOT THE BUILDING KNOWLEDGE WE NEED ALONG WITH COMPUTER SKILLS AND A 'GET-UP-AND-GO' PERSONALITY?
We need someone to oversee and lead maintenance procedures in our company by working as part of a small team to analyse, organise, instruct and manage repairs, and to ensure maintenance is completed safely, effectively and in a timely manner.
We need you to assist our team to co-ordinate self-employed contractors, checking quotes and invoices, and ensuring contractors get paid quickly for works completed. We need you to assist with sourcing new contractors to complete repairs and property improvements, responding to emergencies, monitoring our schedule of rates and working within budgets. You will be dealing with third parties in relation to properties, sourcing grant monies for property improvements and following up on insurance claims.
We have over 600 properties in our portfolio, ranging from a small terraced house, holiday cottages to commercial business premises and historic farm buildings, all of which need maintenance and improvements.
YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO:
· Create clear and decisive specifications of works
· Conduct site inspections
· Supervise contractors
· Understand budgets and work within them
· Co-ordinate works
· Recruit new contractors to carry out works
· Be hands-on for minor repairs where required

You will need to have a proven track record of property/building knowledge, and the technical expertise to make good judgments and decisions on minor and major repairs and improvements.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday 9:00 to 5.30pm, with alternate Saturdays 9:00 to 1:00pm
In-house and external training is available.
Access to your own vehicle is essential as this role requires travel, both locally and occasional travel to both North-East and South-West Scotland. Mileage allowance is paid for business travel.
Salary range of £28k to £35k, dependent on skills and experience.
