Starting salary £30,393 WTE (rising to Step 2 £31,670 following review & satisfactory performance) WTE pro rata, per annum (based on 37.5 hours per week) + Unsocial Hours and On-Call Enhancements + Pension + Benefits
In this role, you will contribute to the maintenance of Hospice estate functions, ensuring environmental, accommodation, and support service standards are met in line with Hospice guidelines, safety standards, and budgetary constraints.
You will be involved in the day-to-day operational activities of the Facilities/Estates Maintenance team (comprising seven staff members), as well as volunteers and external contractors, working across the Hospice, Education buildings, and shops. You will report to the Head of Facilities and will be responsible for proactive maintenance, fault finding, repairs, improvements, and office moves across a wide range of equipment and systems.
The equipment you will work with includes: medical oxygen systems, water systems, heating, laundry equipment, lifts, air conditioning, ventilation, emergency generators, mechanical services, and both fixed and portable equipment. You will also handle nurse call systems, security, fire alarm systems, and various medical and non-medical devices.
The Facilities Team aims to deliver high-quality, fit-for-purpose services in terms of customer service, premises, facilities, and health and safety.
Based at the Trinity Hospice in Edinburgh, this role offers variety and challenge, with no two days the same.
