Group Electrician (Care Home Group) – Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire

Shifts: 8.am to 4.pm, Monday to Friday (flexibility required for on call service)

We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated Electrician to join the Westgate Healthcare Group. Working closely with our Group Facilities Manager and Maintenance Technicians, you will support our care homes across Herts, Bucks, Essex, and London.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our facilities across multiple sites, ensuring all equipment and systems are in safe working order, compliant with legislation, and provide a suitable environment for both residents and staff.
This is a regional role, so you must be comfortable travelling regularly between our homes. A clean, valid UK driving licence is essential.

About the role:
9. Fault finding across electrical systems
10. Replacement and testing of emergency lighting
11. Maintenance of access control systems
12. Installing and modifying electrical circuits (lighting and socket circuits)
13. Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and training our maintenance team to obtain PAT qualifications when required
14. Delivering company induction for new starters on the maintenance team
15. Supporting general electrical maintenance across the group
16. Providing cover during annual leave or staffing gaps within the maintenance team
17. Attending occasional call-outs
18. Keep up to date with new developments and best practice for care home maintenance
About you:
19. The right to live and work in the UK
20. Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrical Installation (Buildings & Structures) or equivalent
21. th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 1:8 + Amendment 3:4)
22. Competent in issuing Minor Works and Installation Certificates
23. Clean, valid UK Driving Licence
24. Strong fault-finding and problem solving skills
25. Good communication and teamwork skills
26. Good health and fitness, the post involves lifting and requires physical stamina
27. City & Guilds 1- (Inspection & Testing) – desired but not essential
28. Knowledge of control panels, switching gear, contactors, transformers, and fire alarm systems – desired but not essential
29. Previous experience in a care home environment – desired but not essential
