Job overview
We are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Health Visitor (Full and Part time) to join the Enfield Health Visiting teams. We are looking for health visitors with excellent clinical and communication skills to join our 0-5 yrs health visiting team, contributing to the delivery of 'The Healthy Child Programme' across Enfield. We welcome all applicants, experienced or newly qualified.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a qualified Health Visitor. You will work autonomously as part of the Health Visiting Team managing a designated caseload of children and families, in order to improve their health and enable them to reach their full potential.
* Manage an identified enhanced caseload and work collaboratively with other agencies to provide high quality care to children and families.
* Child protection work will involve gathering and analysing information to make informed assessments, appropriate referrals and participating and contributing at case conferences and core group meetings.
* Identify and monitor the health needs of a given population and facilitate the implementation of evidence-based health care.
* Develop public health initiatives in line with local and national priorities which promote, protect and improve the health of the population and reduce health inequalities.
* Support the Team Lead/Manager in developing innovative practice.

Education and qualifications
* Registered Adult Nurse
* Registered Children’s Nurse
* Registered Mental Health Nurse
* Specialist Community Public Health Nursing qualification (Health Visiting)
* Current NMC Registration for Health Visiting
* Registered Nurse Prescriber (NMC V100)
* Evidence of continual professional development at level 6
Skills and abilities
* Excellent, adaptable communication skills both written and verbal
* Ability to support children and families to make informed decisions regarding their health and well-being
* Demonstrate ability to adapt to working within a changing environment
* Demonstrate knowledge of research-based practice
* Evidence of supporting equality and valuing diversity in own practice
* Ability to manage and prioritise workload and work in a self-directed way
* A range of clinical skills including assessment of development, health and identification of vulnerable children and their families
* Competent in the use of technology
* Experience of managing staff within a team
* Experience of working with diverse populations
* Experience as a Practice Assessor/Supervisor
Experience
* Experience of specialist knowledge with reference to child development, perinatal mental health, child protection
* Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams
* Evidence of involvement in the management of difficult situations and conflict resolution
* Experience of ensuring that clinical practice is based on sound evidence and audit
Other requirements
* The ability to travel to a variety of sites within the Trust is essential.
* Car driver essential and access to use of a car.
