It is a school of 1,100 pupils, providing education for learners from Years 7–13, as well as a specialist Autism Unit for 42 pupils. Education is provided in a rural setting on a new site that includes excellent learning facilities. We are very proud to offer innovative education through our Outdoor Education centre, ‘Natur’, which includes approximately one and a half acres of garden space, an outdoor stage, poly tunnels, a pond, and accommodation for our animals. Our aim is to create one community, with every opportunity and no limits for our pupils.
We are keen to appoint a teacher who can develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and suit a range of learning styles. The successful candidate will use innovative teaching methods to foster curiosity and resilience among students, providing constructive feedback and support to challenge their understanding and mastery of modern foreign languages.
As a forward-thinking department, the successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the Modern Foreign Languages team to create varied learning experiences, with a particular focus on developing an exciting and engaging curriculum for pupils in Years 7–9, in line with the requirements of Curriculum for Wales. Our department offers a wide range of language learning opportunities, with Spanish playing a central role within this provision. The appointed teacher will be responsible for teaching Spanish at GCSE and A Level, ensuring lessons are inspiring and challenging, and preparing pupils to succeed in external examinations and achieve high standards of attainment.
The successful candidate will be required to have:
•A Bachelor’s Degree, with specialism in Modern Foreign Languages (Spanish)
•Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
•Experience of teaching Languages at secondary level up to A Level
We offer a wide range of staff benefits, including a comprehensive programme of personal development, opportunities to work closely with colleagues within and beyond the subject area, and departmental support to share learning resources and develop new schemes.
