Reporting to the Transport Team Manager you will be responsible for supporting the management of a fleet of drivers and transport support colleagues ensuring that they work within company guidelines. Providing a store network with a first-class service ensuring operational targets are met on a weekly and monthly basis though effective use of scheduling information provided by the customer.
Salary: £27,199.00 pa
The Role
1. Full time – Secondment (6 months)
2. Shift Pattern – rotating days and nights 4 on 4 off
3. Inputting of daily run sheets onto spreadsheets and web-based programmes
4. Filing of Transport related documentation
5. General Transport Administrative tasks
6. Completing daily reports and communications
7. Complete small projects identify / communicate results
8. Briefing drivers at the start of every shift, communicating planned requirements providing information on performance, company news and procedures
9. De-briefing drivers via Microlise
10. Supporting the fleet recovery / maintenance plan
11. Increasing communication with stores
12. Ensuring the department complies with the Road Traffic Act
13. Ensuring drivers comply with Health and Safety regulations
14. Undertakes such duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the function and department
The Person
15. Previous experience working in an office environment
16. Previous experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
17. Previous Transport experience would be preferred but not essential
18. An understanding of Drivers Working Time Directive and EU Regulations is desirable but not essential
19. Strong administration skills including attention to detail, timeliness and accuracy
20. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
21. Must have a flexible approach to working hours
22. Self-motivated with a ‘can do’ approach
23. Good team player who can work on their own initiative
24. Someone looking to progress and develop within the department and the company
25. Good communicator at all levels
