You'll be responsible for commissioning new hardware, completing migrations to replacement kit, managing obsolescence, and keeping the environment documented, patched, and reliable.
Responsibilities
* Complete commissioning of a new storage facility and compute farm
* Finalise migration of workloads to new hardware
* Manage hardware obsolescence and lifecycle issues
* Maintain clear documentation of system configurations
* Diagnose and resolve infrastructure failures
* Day-to-day administration of users, access, and systems within a secure project environment
Core Technical Skills Required
* Windows Active Directory administration
* Windows Server administration
* Linux server administration
* QNAP NAS administration
Operational Responsibilities
* On-boarding and off-boarding users
* Managing ACLs and user access to files and folders
* Administration of Jenkins, Jira, and project-specific tooling
* Patching, updating, and licensing operating systems and software (software purchasing handled separately)
* Managing backups to tape and performing restores when required
Infrastructure / systems engineer with strong on-prem experience
* Comfortable working hands-on with physical hardware and storage
* Used to secure, controlled environments
* Methodical, documentation-focused, and calm under failure conditions
