About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Consultant to act as the client-side H&S representative across large-scale construction projects. You will play a key role in ensuring high standards of safety performance across multiple contractors and complex construction environments.
This is a high-impact role with significant site presence and includes stop-work authority where imminent danger is identified.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Safety Oversight
* Act as client H&S representative across active construction sites
* Monitor contractor compliance with safety management plans and legislation
* Conduct regular site inspections and structured H&S audits
* Ensure implementation of safe systems of work and risk controls
Risk & Incident Management
* Identify and escalate high-risk activities and non-compliance
* Review incident investigations and support root cause analysis
* Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively
* Support continuous improvement in site safety performance
Stakeholder & Compliance Management
* Work closely with contractors, project teams, and site leadership
* Participate in daily coordination and safety meetings
* Maintain accurate reporting, audits, and compliance documentation
* Support overall delivery of safe construction operations
Requirements
* 3+ years’ experience in construction Health & Safety
* Relevant qualification in Health & Safety or related discipline
* Strong knowledge of construction safety legislation
* Experience with ISO 45001 or equivalent safety systems
* Confident in risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-contractor environments
* Fluent English (additional languages beneficial)
